Design Session 001

STATUS: ACTIVE
Step 01

Understand the goal

The cyan protein comes from the Nipah virus. The blue one is the human receptor it grabs to enter our cells. If we design a new protein that binds to the right spots on the cyan viral surface, we can cover up the areas it normally uses to attach to us, acting like a protective cap.

We're going to use AI models to design this "cap" protein from scratch. But first, the models need to know what regions of the surface they should bind to.

These target regions are called hotspots, and they serve as the starting point for the design process.

Step 02

Find and pick hotspots
